How DASH Works

DASH combines cutting-edge virtual reality technology with clinically validated sensorimotor tasks to assess balance, reaction time, and coordination. Participants complete a series of interactive activities—such as single-leg balance, reaction time challenges, and tandem gait—all designed to measure postural control, agility, and sensorimotor integration. Each task generates precise, real-time metrics to evaluate performance, offering a powerful tool for health assessment and injury recovery.

Trail Making

A cognitive-motor challenge where participants trace a path between numbered or lettered targets, assessing visual scanning, sequencing, and motor planning.

Audio Localization

Participants identify the location of virtual sounds, testing spatial awareness and auditory-motor coordination.

Smooth Pursuit

Participants follow a moving object with their gaze, evaluating their ability to maintain controlled, fluid eye movements.

Reaction Board

A dynamic test measuring reaction time and decision-making, where participants respond to changing lights and colors using designated hand movements.

Single Leg Balance

A stability challenge where participants balance on one leg with or without visual stimuli, measuring their postural control and sensorimotor integration.

Tandem Gait

A balance test requiring participants to walk heel-to-toe along a virtual line, assessing coordination and postural stability during movement.
